Masid Jamek: Not far from Merdeka Square, this Mosque was built in 1909 and is well remembered as the place where the founders of Kuala Lumpur first set foot.

 
    KL Railway Station: A very good example of Moorish architecture, this railway station was built in 1910.  
    Sri Mahamariaman Temple: One of the most ornate Hindu temples in the country dating back to 1873. Inside is a giant chariot that is used to transport one of the sacred deities during the annual Hindu festival of Thaipuisam.  
    Batu Caves: Approximately 13 kms north of Kuala Lumpur, one of the main attractions of this cave is a Hindu Shrine and a smaller cave at the foothills which houses an interesting display of Hindu mythology.  
       
    And of course, don't miss a visit to Central Market. A good place for souveniers of all kinds, there are many activities here that exemplify Malaysian culture, arts & crafts; from portrait drawing, batik painting, glass blowing and even fortune telling!
